Guardians and Elder Guardians no longer rarely drop salmon/clownfish/pufferfish

Minecraft version: Java 1.16.3, uncertain about earlier versions.

The issue mentioned in the summary above seems very similar to the already reported and currently on status: "resolved" issue, which also is affected by this (no longer resolved!):

MC-91152

The difference to that issue is that fish (cod) are still dropped, but no salmon/clownfish/pufferfish.

For the wiki still sais that guardians would drop the other fish types occasionally I was surprised to find only cod in my guardian farm as well as from killing them with a looting III sword, so far I got 2 doublechests full of them and nothing else.

I have left a note in mentioned issue MC-91152 a few days ago, but for no reply was given I was not certain if the note was seen and the issue would reopen, which is why I created this new bug report, I hope this is ok.

Please provide a screenshot with your F3 debug, or check if you are using any datapacks.

Am I just out of luck? They dont drop them at a low surface level or out of water or in deep _cold_ocean? What am I not seeing?

No, I am not using any mods or datapacks. The world was created some time ago, though.

Try AFK’ing for a bit longer. See if that helps.

The drops you are mentioning are player kill drops (at least they are now), are you sure that in previous versions, they even dropped when the guardian wasn't killed by a player?

Aaah, ok - this was not properly mentioned in the wiki:

https://minecraft.gamepedia.com/Guardian

"Guardians also have a 2.5% chance of dropping a random fish as an extra drop in addition to the normal fish drop. This chance is increased by 1% per Looting level, for a maximum of 5.5% with Looting III. This drop uses the same chances that fishing uses, resulting in a 60% chance for raw cod, a 25% chance for raw salmon, a 13% chance for pufferfish, and a 2% chance for tropical fish. A guardian on fire drops cooked fish."

For this reason I thought the drop chance was active for environment kills, too. I'll make the according change in the wiki, thanks for the info - I gave the swordkilling another chance and playerkills are indeed working to drop pufferfish, it seems I just didnt kill enough by hand the first try.

By the way, the pufferfish still is the hardest-to-farm - or at least the most-boring-to-farm brewing material in Minecraft singleplayer. I hope my guardian farm can change this once I optimized it for hand-made-kills. EDIT: It cant. Guardians or hoppers, I dont know what, is causing the framerate to go down tremendously unfortunately. Back to the fishing rod zZz.
