The bug
Despite the fix for MC-3615, at a specific angle lava is still transparent. It is a lot harder to perform though.
How to reproduce
Create a Redstone Ready superflat
Set your gamemode to spectator
Run
/setblock 8 55 17 lavaRun
/tp @s 8 54.33 17 ~ 54.36

Can confirm, there is a small stripe on the bottom of the screen, that allows you to see through.

Still happens with lava too in 1.18.2 if your head is just in the surface of flowing lava.
Happens with both positive and negative y.
I've posted a screenshot with some coords and seed to test.
Just break the 2 blocks in 91 -18 -202 and 91 -19 -202, and leave the lava flow... then go inside the flowing lava.
Use creative mode.
