When an Illusioner gets attacked, it retaliates like most mobs. However, unlike most mobs, they don't stop retaliating when their target dies, meaning they shoot arrows forever, which is kind of weird, but also really funny.
Note: Some Illusioners do not suffer from this illness.
Note: It seems that they only show this strange behavior if called for help by another Illusioner.

This isnβt a supported feature of the game. It was something old never meant to be added, but never removed.

The bug that this "duplicates" has two problems:
1. It's extremely vague and undescriptive.
2. It has nothing to do with this one, and only mentions the giant.

I agree with @unknown. MC-48071 only mentions Giants.
Illusioners also have valid tickets even with priority assigned.

Giants, Zombie Horses, Killer Bunnies and Illusioners are currently unsupported mobs that are not fully implemented. They were created as a test-base for proof of concept on alternate styles of mobs.
Functionality of those mobs at this time may be limited compared to other mobs due to this.
The mod note is clear.
