End portals and end gateways cause abnormal amounts of lag since 21w11a

End portals and end gateways cause serious lag that doesn't happen in 1.16.5, even if there is only one block. This lag seems to be dependent on how much the end portal/gateway takes up your screen. When looking at the end gateway in 1.16.5, I get 58 FPS, but in 21w11a, I get 8 FPS and can barely move.

I cannot seem to reproduce. Can you provide the GPU and OS.

The GPU is NVIDIA GeForce GT 640M 512 MB, on MacOS. (the GPU can also be found on the debug screen)

Cannot reproduce with NVIDIA GeForce 1050 Ti mobile, on WIndows 10 20H2
Performance seems to be much better for me on 21w11a than on 1.16.5

I noticed that it seems to cause a tad bit of lag when taking up the whole screen, but not too too much. But still an issue. (This was looking up into an end portal from below.)

I cannot reproduce this issue. Might be hardware-dependent.
