What actually happened was...:
Ever since Minecraft 1.6.1, I keep getting Out of Memory crashes
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open Minecraft
2. Login
3. Go on a multiplayer server or singleplayer
4. Play for a bit
5. Crash
This is a problem because I always run my Minecraft on 1GB of RAM, and recently I've been using the Java flags option in profile on the new launcher and because of these crashes I've been even trying to add a bit more memory and I keep getting out of memory error!

There's your problem:
-Xmx1160M -Xms1024MEdit it to something like:
-Xmx3GSo I need 3 whole GB of my RAM to Minecraft? I can't just go with simply over 1GB? Also, 3G is too big for Minecraft somehow. It can't even reach to 2G. Whenever you go that high it tells you that it cannot create Java Virtual Machine when you try to start the game. and MC-9553 is about particle effects? Also, I'm using more than 1GB of RAM for Mineraft by a few hundred megabytes and that's over the Recommended amount.

I use 1 GB of RAM still, but now it says its out of memory. I used 1 GB before and this never happened.

I changed it to 2 GB then back to 1 GB and somehow it still crashes.
I forgot to mention, even if there is nothing that would be taking up all my memory this happens. I have 12GB of RAM
