Beacon item can be destroyed by an explosion

The bug

Nether stars cannot be destroyed by explosions, and beacons are made with a nether star. So why can beacons be destroyed by explosions?

Steps to reproduce

  • Throw a beacon and a nether star on the ground

  • Place some TNT nearby

  • Ignite the TNT
    → ❌ Notice how the nether star item is not destroyed by the explosion, but the beacon is, therefore indicating that beacon item entities can be destroyed by explosions.

Expected Behavior

The expected behavior would be that beacon item entities cannot be destroyed by explosions.

I wouldn’t consider it a duplicate of that. That ticket doesn’t mention beacons and nether stars cannot be blown up in item form. This is what makes it inconsistent.

Actually the beacon item should drop a nether star.

I'd recommend making items immune to explosions controllable via a tag. Perhaps this could be mentioned in the ticket as a potential fix?
