Bedrock Parity:
On Java, hoppers do not allow dripstone to be placed above them like on bedrock limiting farm or mob grinder designs/traps.

This is probably intentional, as you may know there are game play differences between the two, so I wouldn't be surprised if this is an actual feature.
This is considered a valid parity issue because it was introduced after 1.15. If this is resolved as WAI, then a report should be made in the MCPE bug tracker.

Can confirm that in Java, pointed dripstone cannot be placed on hoppers. However, I think that this is intentional and should probably be corrected in Bedrock Edition.
