[MC-230812] Villagers disappearing after zombie kills them even when world is on hard mode

While trading with my farmer villager I flicked a lever to let a zombie kill him. Instead of him converting into a zombie villager, he just disappeared. I was playing on an server with me and my friend and I never changed the difficulty

Sounds more like an issue with infection not being 100% on hard than a duplicate. We know why it disappeared, it died.

I know, but for a villager to die on hard mode there must be something preventing it from turning into a zombie villager if the difficulty was never changed.
