Every time I try to enter 1.17 or higher, I get an openGL error that my computer won't allow me to resolve. For people of old computers it is impossible to play the new versions ...

So you're saying they shouldn't resolve it and the players should be on their own or don't play the new versions? This isn't a "technical support issue". You seem to be seing it as "personal issue of me and every other player: my PC doesn't run Minecraft and I need a new one that plays", we're seing it as "These Minecraft versions can't be played, make future versions that can".
Is the error "GLFW error 65542: WGL: The driver does not appear to support OpenGL" (MC-128302)?
