It's just me or Axolotls are extremely rare to find? I mean, it's nice to have to find them hard, but I explored many lush caves in Creative and only found them 2 times, and the worst part, they were trapped in closed aquifers

I know and I said that I tried to find them in many Lush Caves, I mean to say that Axolotls spawn really rarelly and that doesn't mean that you would find them at time.
They do spawn, but They Should spawn more times or easier
I think this is because in 1.17, axolotls spawned in water with stone blocks above the water (so, a cave and not rivers/oceans). Now, that code is still in there and not just the biome condition. As such, axolotls only spawn in lush caves that have a low ceiling over the water and not just any water in lush caves like I assume is supposed to be happening.
Just want to say that axolotls can spawn, but due to lack of water and the spawning conditions set to prevent them spawning in 1.17.1 the only place they spawn is in aquifers that rarely border lush caves. This problem was also applied to the experimental generation as well. However, the problem is with the spawn conditions as axolotls are really only obtainable by making an axolotl spawner.
This can be a problem like a bedrock problem MCPE-140859
I think the fix could be that axolotl spawning coded in 1.17.1 needs to be changed and that they can spawn at any light level instead of light level 0 and let them spawn at any blocks generated in the lush caves instead of just stone.
As of 21w40a, they are actually not spawning at all: MC-238561.

This would mean this report is invalid as of 21w40a because axolotl spawning rules were changed from the 1.17 ones
they now are only spawning in lush caves
