Keybinds F3+A, F3+C, F3+F, and F3+N are all inaccessible on the Touch Bar after upgrading to macOS Monterey due to new key binds using the Fn key.
Keybind | Expected Outcome | Outcome |
---|---|---|
F3+A | Reloads Chunks | Opens the Dock (Fn+A) |
F3+C | Copies Coordinates | Opens Control Center (Fn+C) |
F3+F | Cycles Render Distance | Toggles Full Screen (Fn+F) |
F3+N | Switches Gamemode to Spectator | Opens Notification Center (Fn+N) |
I have attempted to change these keybinds on the system itself with no luck.

@_Kukuruku_YT I have attached a photo of the system key binds I cannot change. I also tried resetting the Minecraft keybinds in game, but it didnt work since there is no keybind for the debug menu.
Does MC-121389 describe your issue?
@Jess Edward no - i was able to do these things just fine before macOS Monterey came out a few days ago - thats a separate issue.
The reason the keys are inaccessible is i cannot remap the new system keybinds that have been put in place that use the function keys by default, and inside of Minecraft, remapping the Debug key is impossible
I've managed to workaround this issue by pressing F3 + H (any other letter could work) very quickly after releasing the Fn key. There's a slim window in which you can still input the F3 key on some Macs that have a Touch bar. This is of course not an accessible solution for everyone but it does work.
Does installing Fluor or another third-party per-app function toggle utility resolve this issue? (Not saying this isn't a valid bug, but given the continued existence of MC-147718 and the differences between Apple's and Microsoft's approaches to function keys you really do need a utility like this to play Minecraft on macOS without extra hassle.)
Please attach a photo if possible. Maybe you have something wrong with your computer hotkeys. Or in minecraft settings) This problem is solved like this: do what I said above, or just download minecraft again - (this has not been tested, but it works very often!).
