Amethyst geodes get overridden by chunk borders beneath azalea trees

I noticed an amethyst geode cut off by a chunk border right underneath an azalea tree. I don't entirely know what conditions have to be true for this to occur, but the seed and coords are in both attached images

This might just be a case of MC-125007/MC-188086.

I cannot reproduce this issue in 1.21 with the seed and coordinates provided. Is there a specific way needed to enter these chunks?

For easier reproducibility, here are the seed and coordinates to copy-paste:

Seed: 3352759197806401352
Coordinates: */execute in minecraft:overworld run tp @s 157 -6 -73 -430 -11*

After testing in the last (and only) affected version, this does in fact duplicate MC-188086. The issue cannot be reproduced by stumbling upon the geode, but instead requires the player leave and rejoin the world during generation.
