I have created a server using the 22w17a server jar. This bug is not present in multiplayer servers.
The bug:
Even though I using a skin I made, in 22w17a it is using the default skin.
Steps to Reproduce:
Select a custom skin in the Minecraft Launcher
Open Minecraft Java Edition and join a singleplayer world.
Observed Results:
You won't be using your skin and the default skin is used.
Expected Results:
You will be using your skin that is selected in the launcher.

Also running into this. Changing skins and re-loading the game does not seem to have any impact either.

This issue has yet to be resolved. Default skins remain visible even in split screen for second player when first changes to a skin from classic skin pack. When viewing first player from third person view, the correct skin is shown but not for other players in game.
