The warden's sonic boom deals reduced damage to witches, and since witches can heal themselves faster than the warden can attack them, a warden cannot kill a witch.
How to reproduce:
Build a pillar that is 3 blocks high.
Spawn a witch on top of it.
Two blocks above the highest block of the pillar, place a solid block one block away on each side so the witch can't escape.
Place a block above the witch.
Spawn a warden on the ground and watch it attempt to kill the witch.
Expected result:
The warden would be able to kill the witch with its sonic boom attacks.
Observed result:
The warden keeps attacking the witch with its sonic boom to no avail, as the witch heals itself after every attack.

@unknown said on Twitter that they were considering changing the sonic boom to be a magic attack. Also, the 22w17a patch notes say that the sonic boom was changed to bypass shields and deal less damage per attack (but with more frequent attacks). It seems extremely likely that this is intentional.
Don't edit the title feel free!!!
I'm posting to confirm that whether Sonic Boom is a magic attack or not!!! Rather 'an if it can kill Witch!!!
As you're aware, this is a bugtracker, not a discussion forum. Therefore, reports have to focus on a specific issue with the game.
quoting the minecraft wwiki
''The poison, instant damage, evoker fangs, warden's sonic boom and the Thorns enchantment magical sources are 85% less effective against witches''
Reply from @unknown:
The wiki is not a valid source for whether certain behavior is intended or not.
I think Sonic Boom is a physics attack rather 'an magic one. If this is a feature, just ignore this comment…
