[MC-252575] LAN not working in 1.19

Unable to connect via Lan, have check all other potential issues preventing it, simply not connecting

What I expected to happen was...:
should connect

What actually happened was...:
either didn't show up or kept saying unable to connect with no further information

Can confirm, 1.19 no longer supports lan play even on unmodified version, extremely important bug to get fixed for 1.19.1, please change to confirmed.

Switching to 1.18.2 immidiately allows lan play, so no this is not a firewall/other outside issue.

Please include steps to reproduce, such as how you started the server. Was it singleplayer or dedicated? What OS are you using? Is there an error screen? Does it crash? Does it even find the server? Thanks.

For me it's opening a singleplayer world to lan, sometimes it will appear in the multiplayer list sometimes it won't. When it does, attempting to join stalls on the "connecting to server" screen, and then will eventually say "Connection timed out: no further information". Both players on on Windows. Attempting to join using a port number + IP and direct connection results in the same thing. Both methods work instantly in 1.18. Both games are unmodified.

i did the exact same steps as Polothesea40, and still cant join each other’s lan, but had no problem when switching to 1.18

Created a new port foreword on my router and created an exception to every java system file in windows firewall on windows 11 and was not able to use IP:PortNumber to open a LAN server to both local computers and external computers and am unable to connect local or external via IP:Port to other computers, tested with both modded and non modded 1.19 with the same results, no related issues with other versions installed

Have now tested problem on a second computer in my possession [windows 11 with the same router and a secondary router] and helped to attempt to connect two computers that where external to my internet connection with the same time out issue, all computers running 1.19 and 1 being a apple laptop vs a windows machine.

What????? Do explain how you got LAN to work in 1.19, as with all the people coming to this report and referencing it on other sites I'm positive that this is not at the fault of the players. Your article is from the perspective of someone who cannot get LAN working at all, whereas this report is specifically for those that have LAN working EXCEPT when they switch to 1.19.

This is affecting me too. 1.16.5 LAN works just fine. 1.19.2 (release) does not. Tried both clean versions and modded with the same results. Our accounts aren't banned from any service that we know of, we don't play online outside of LAN/self hosted at all.

PC's on the same network trying to connect: Windows 10 build 19044 and Linux Mint 20.3 (kernel 5.4.0-131 generic).

Firewall is completely off on Linux, network is set to private in Windows 10. (Will provide further update if hauling out the second Windows 10 machine I have changes anything.)

Edit to update as promised: No change. Two Windows 10 machines, both following the linked article. I even got very bold and turned off firewall entirely on both machines. Nothing. Direct connect results in "connection refused, no further info" now.
