There has been a problem with single biome world generation ever since the caves and cliffs update changed how world generation works. Practically every biome that from the End or Nether generate with grass and water instead of the proper terrain type. Also biomes like the oceans and rivers generate with crazy amounts of hilly lands with only random spots of ocean/river rather than the other way around. I saw these issues brought up in the bug tracker before and they have been marked "Resolved" and "Working as Intended". How in the world is this "Working as Intended"? At least give an explanation how this is how you want it to be. Without being trying to be rude to you, it feels as if you just do not want to bother fixing it. Can you at least explain your reasoning? Please consider fixing this as this allows many fun survival challenges and creations. I implore you as people working on one of the most successful games in the world, please care.

1.18 separated biome placement from terrain generation. They can't make single biome worlds have certain terrain heights based on biome, because terrain height has nothing to do with biomes anymore. Even if they gave the default biomes heights for single biome worlds, biomes added in future versions wouldn't have terrain heights.
