When updating from 1.16.4 to 1.19.1, the hight at which snowfalling occurs, and water freezes, changed for already genereated mountain/windsweptHills terrain from y~96 to y>=130.
This makes the world feel weird, and breaks ice farms.
Steps to Reproduce:
[Step 1] - generate single player survival world with 1.16.4
seed: -5644715321251145642
coordinates roughly around 29 / 96 / 505
[Step 2] - set weather to rain, and observe 🙂
[Step 3]- update world straight to 1.19.1 (no snapshots or 1.17.x/1.18.x){*}*
Observed Results:
During wheather = rain, where there used to be snow falling, there is now rain, and water does not freeze anymore where it used to.
(Rain drops instead of snow flakes are shown above blocks that have a snow layer from before the update. When a snow layer is manually removed, there will not form a new one.)
When pillaring up to y >= 130, (which is a good bit above the local terrain) rain drops change to snow flakes. Snow will form on blocks placed at y>130, and water will freeze to ice at this height.
Expected Results:
Snow falls, and water freezes, everywhere it used to before the update.
Notes:
Optimizing the world has not helped
The behaviour is the same for both my >2 year old single player world that has way more terrain around it explored before the update, as well as a new world with minimal exploration with the same seed I made specifically for reproducing the bug.
Bug seems simlar to MCPE-149697
I would very much like a mitigation/fix that does not require going to a backup 🙂
The snow fall in said seed and location is a little scattered on the same height in 1.16.4 already, but after the update it is gone/elevated to y>=130 everywhere. I would not mind more snowfall at the old hight after a fix/mitigation, should coherence be a factor. I guess that would be better then no snowfall, and eventually breaking ice farms, etc of players with the same issue.

Thank you for the quick response.
I was not able to find this information in the change logs. If it is not in there, I would welcome it if they were amended.
To me it seems to be a rather big change, in a place players will not expect it, that deserves mentioning.
A Label "snowing" or "snowfall" might be helpful, but the FAQ states I must not create new one.
