Minecraft launcher takes almost 30 seconds to acknowledge that there is no internet. Then, after requiring an attempt at signing it, it takes another two full minutes before it allows you to play offline.
Even then, the application is spamming requests to sentry.io non-stop. The attempted connections should stop once it is established there is no internet. I've also discovered it's causing huge "launcher_log.txt" files. See my comment below.

Not the same issue at all. I'm also realizing that the launcher no longer shuts itself down, when I have it set to in the preferences. The biggest issues here is the rampant spamming of the log file, which is creating 6 gigabyte files. Going to try a fresh install to see if that fixes things (even though this was a fresh install).
Also, I'm now realizing that there are now absolutely HUGE log files being generated because of this. My latest is 5.68 gigabytes and is full of:
