Stray and bogged with melee weapons won't apply the corresponding effect to target

The bug

When a stray or bogged picked up a sword, and then attacking you, you won't receive the slowness or poison effect, this making them are no difference than normal skeletons.

How to reproduce

  1. Summon a stray or bogged with can pick up items.

  2. Giving it a sword.

  3. Switch the gamemode to survival.

  4. Let the stray/bogged attacking you.

←You won't receive the slowness or poison effect.

Honestly, I think they aren't supposed to give you an effect, when attacking you with melee weapons, as they are clearly using tipped arrows to give certain effects to entities.

The wither skeletons can give effect with melee weapons, so why not on strays and boggeds.

I think it's a nice idea, but that's rather a suggestion, not a bug. Usually, you'd post suggestions right here: https://feedback.minecraft.net/ . However I currently can't login at the site, so that'd might have to wait. (Not sure if that's a me-problem)
