The brand new 1.21 music discs, such as Creator, Creator (Music Box) and Precipice are sorted in the wrong order, even mixing up with the older C418 music discs such as "wait".
My suggestion is that those 3 music discs should've been sorted after Relic or 5, which was the newer 1.19/20 music disc, but before "Pigstep", as Pigstep is considered to be a Nether music disc and not overworld ones.

The order is correct partially correct, see this comment.
It might be correct in the past, but considering the new discs also occupies between other older discs, based on redstone signal strength, like the case with Lena Raine's "Creator (Music Box)" disc and C418's "wait" disc, it would be confusing for a lot of new and even older players. I think it's best to wait for Mojang's verdict on this.
Forget about what I am saying. There is a problem, Creator should be placed before wait to be sorted alphabetically, they both have a comparator output of 12.
I believe that discs should be arranged in order of their date of creation.
C418’s discs are listed first in alphabetical order, followed by Pigstep and Otherside, then disc number 5 and Relic, and finally the 1.21 disc, also arranged alphabetically.

After consideration, the issue is being closed as Won't Fix.
Please note that this is not the same as Working as Intended, as this bug report correctly describes behavior in the game that might not be the intended or desirable behavior, but it will not be fixed right now. Sometimes, this is because the issue reported is minor and/or impossible to change without large architectural changes to the code base.
