freezing and screen flashing

Upon game launch, the game will sometimes within a few seconds freeze up then the screen will flash on and off rapidly (attempts to screenshot this failed).

When the game has not frozen within the first few seconds, upon world generation the screen will occasionally flicker, alt-tabbing has the same affect of causing rapid flickering.

This is only occurring in 1.21, If I load forge 1.12 up to go to my modded minecraft worlds this issue does not occur. If I switch back to 1.21, the game still freezes then flashes or just occasionally flicker then full on flash.

To clarify, are you using any mods or modloaders with 1.21, or is it vanilla Minecraft?

I am also not planning on modding 1.21 at all if that is a question

@unknown No, the question was that if you were using any mods, which you aren't 🙂

Sounds similar to MC-273527. Could you provide a video of the issue occuring?

My system does meet the requirements though, I checked when I bought the game on my previous laptop and again when I bought this laptop. The requirements haven't changed (AFAIW) yet all of a sudden I am having issues.

As of now your system does not meet two of the minimum requirements: processor and graphics. Please note that newer does not necessarily mean better.

If my laptop doesn't meet the requirements, then why was it not picked up by the first mod greymagic? Why did it work on this laptop for years? Also why did it start freezing/flashing with the update and not before? 1.21 must have changed minimum specs without us being made aware. Oh well, My pc still has minecraft forge 1.12 working fine and I have the Nintendo Switch for bedrock.

The specs weren't listed in the Environment field of your report, so we had no idea. The forced crash report you provided listed your computer's specifications.

When the minimum system requirements for Minecraft (and for all software in general) change, usually it does not stop working right away on unsupported hardware. However, future versions are not guaranteed to work on unsupported devices.

1.21 must have changed minimum specs without us being made aware.

1.21 did not change anything when it comes to system requirements.

To add on: When I did the DDU steps with you, I did not compare your specs to the min requirements as that's not something I usually do. I assume people who play the game have the hardware requirements to do so.
