I am feeding raw cod to an ocelot, it will emit heart particles, yet it will still run away

As of Minecraft version 1.14, Ocelots cannot be tamed. If an ocelot is showing heart particles, that means it is in the breeding state, so if you find another ocelot you can get a nice little ocelot kitten!Â

Not a duplicate of that bug; ocelots can't be tamed, but by feeding them, they trust the player and should no longer run away from it. If they're still running away after trusting the player, that's a valid bug.
Thanks for the clarification. I can confirm that even after the hearts particles display above the ocelot, it still runs from the player.
Experiencing the same thing here. The first time I feed cod, the ocelot displays hearts (entering "love mode") and the cod gets consumed. Every time I feed cod after that, the cod seems to get consumed by the ocelot, but clicking on it in the inventory gives you back the cod you "used" while attempting to gain the ocelot's trust, and only the initial cod got consumed.
TL;DR: Ocelots can enter "love mode", but cannot trust the player. Any attempt to gain the ocelot's trust results in ghost items
EDIT: Upon further testing, I've confirmed that this only happens if the Ocelot is attempting to run away from the player. If the ocelot is approaching the player and waiting to be fed, you can gain its trust normally. However, if the ocelot is actively running away from the player, the behavior described in my original post occurs.
