Slimes freeze the game

Slimes freezes the game visually.

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Spawn a slime using the command:

    /summon minecraft:slime

Observed Results:
After the slime spawns, the game freezes.

Expected Results:
The game won’t freeze and behave like normal.

Notes:

Sometimes the game freezes just after the slime starts rendering, so the slime will be visible. The slime will not be transparent in that case.

Environment

OS: Windows 11 26120.3291
CPU: Intel Core i5-8250U
Graphics: Intel UHD Graphics 620

Does this issue still occur in 25w09b?

I can confirm in 25w09b. It appears to be a bug in Intel’s GPU drivers. From my testing, slime eyes happened:

  1. 0/20+ times with vertex attrib binding disabled

  2. 10/10 times with vertex attrib binding enabled (incl. 1 crash and a bunch of weirdness - vertices being in random places)

Tested by restarting my game and loading into a void superflat with a bunch of slimes with a mod to change the debug flag that forces vertex attribute binding off. I didnt wait for a crash, but I have only seen the game crash if the slime eyes are weird. OS is windows 11, GPU is intel integrated graphics (UHD 620) on driver version 30.0.101.1218 (December 23rd 2021) which Windows update suggests is the latest.
