Anvils falling don't have ANY kind of affect on bats

I tried to figure out some bugs about mobs, because I love mojang so I want to help them, and I trapped mobs and let anvils fall on them, and noticed, that bats don't have any kind of affect when anvils fall through them.
Causes: Bats are actually are flying, (same problem, if you have fly mode, and you are in survival, anvils are don't have any affects on you), and the anvil is ONLY have damage if it hits the ground.
Solution: You can't solve the problem by hand, but mojang can make the anvils so they have damage in air.

Thank you

I figured it out! Bats are have damage from anvil if they are on the bottom block, basically where does the anvil stops falling. If they are flying above the bottom block they are NOT getting any damage.

A falling anvil is similar to falling sand. It does not damage you or any mob. Currently this is an intended behavior.

@mrheat:
Anvils are intended to hurt mobs that it falls on. It has the same physics as falling sand, but is supposed to deal damage based on how high the anvil fell from.

Is this still a concern in the current Minecraft version 1.6.4 / Launcher version 1.2.5 ? If so, please update the affected versions in order to best aid Mojang ensuring bugs are still valid in the latest releases/pre-releases.

Closing due to no response in 2 months.

Also... "In the code, bats are their own type of mob." therefore may not perform as expected of normal mobs.
