When invisible using the invisibility potion, viewing yourself in third person behaves as expected.
Your hand is also invisible as expected.
But when you are on a team and you can see allied invisible players.
Viewing yourself in third person has yourself as transparent.
But in first person view your hand is missing.
What should be happening is that the hand displays as transparent in your screen instead of missing.

The allied thing is a game rule:
SeeFriendlyInvisibles: 1 or 0 (true/false)

As for the other... I think 1.5 did the same thing. But it makes sense you can't see your hand when invisible. Its see thru

I would like to request review of this ticket.
To note first, this issue was resolved all the way back in 2013. The game has changed a lot since then, and I think it's fair to give this issue another review. Adding on to this, issues like MC-25512 and MC-164874 have both been triaged previously, indicating that the player should consistently have the same information displayed to them in the first-person as third/second-person. In these two cases, it's expected the player should have the damage tilt, glowing effect, and armor all applied to their arm/hand to match the gameplay shown in third-person. Additionally, while it's not triaged and holds less relevant to this argument, MC-136841 also (currently) remains open, which relates very closely to this behavior.
The general gameplay affect of this behavior is that the player is not rendered completely invisible in third-person, but rather translucent. This would lead the player to expect to be able to see their hand when they change their camera mode. Ultimately if it's decided this is in fact still intentional design, I would be interested to hear the reasoning behind it.
