Minecraft does not launch when MSI Afterburner and Rivatuner (RTSS) is open

When MSI Afterburner and RTSS are opened and working in the background, Minecraft does not launch after clicking the play button but runs in the background.

When trying to open RTSS After opening Minecraft, the layout of RTSS appears buggy

Probably some rendering issue.

Weird.

What OS are you using?

Just wanted to bump this. I’m having the same issue when I have Rivatuner runner. Any version 1.21 and later, Minecraft refuses to launch with RTSS running. I’m using Windows 11 BTW.

Is the issue persisting or was it a one time thing?

The issue persists for me. Only walkaround is shutting down MSI Afterburner and Riva Tuner.

Yes, it still happens now, if MSI afterburner or RTSS is opened, the game doesn’t show up and keep running in the background, this happens in 1.21.5 only if the game is opened from the official launcher. I tried with Modrinth and it doesn’t have that issue for some reason.

I use Windows 11 24h2 with all the latest updates

CPU is a R5 5600G and 16GB of ram

GPU is an Asus RX 6600 XT OC that have the latest video drivers

B450M DS3H with the latest chipset drivers

an SSD with enough storage

I’ve tested all release versions. 1.21 and below launches fine, but 1.21.1 and above doesn’t launch. I’ve sent an email to both Mojang and Guru3D, hopefully it will be fixed as soon as possible. I’m also opening a bug report on the Minecraft Launcher bug report page, as it is only happening on the official launcher.

Can confirm. Removing the program resolves the issue.
