Relates to MC-297212 and MC-297213. Whether this has been reported before or not is unknown as the search feature does not work.
Walking on top of a shulker does not produce any footstep sounds or subtitles, despite them being a solid, walkable surface.
Walking on shulker boxes, however, does produce sounds as expected.
