While holding Sneak, opening the Inventory turns off Sneak.
What I expected was:
Sneaking while opening the inventory wouldn't turn off Sneak.
What happened instead was:
Sneaking is turned off when the Inventory is open.
Steps to reproduce:
Hold down Sneak.
Open the Inventory.
Notice that Sneak mode ends when the Inventory screen shows, and Sneak is resumed when closing the Inventory.
Happens in Survival, Creative, Hardcore, and Adventure Modes.

The fact that you was able to crouch while a GUI is open was a bug and it got patched in 1.21.6

Not sure which sneak mode you are referring to, but since it’s intended that you can’t sneak in your inventory with toggle sneak (MC-301806) then surely it’s also intended for hold sneak.
