Using any item in the offhand, then quickly switching your mainhand item to any spear noticeably slows down the offhand item’s use animation, with the effect becoming more severe the slower the attack speed of the spear is. This is most noticeable with the netherite spear (as it has the slowest attack speed) but this effect occurs with all spears.
