The bug
Underwater fog is not applied correctly at low render distances, making chunk edges pop off at the distance. This is a regression fromMC-126772. Last time this worked correctly was in 1.21.4, worsened in 1.21.5 and regressed completely in 1.21.6.
How to reproduce
Create a world
Set your render distance to 2.
Go to an ocean and dive in.
Move around and look at the edges.
Expected result
Chunk edges would be hidden by underwater fog.
Observed result
Chunk edges are visible at the distance.
