I have noticed for weeks now that while playing on Java Realms 1.21.10 that my leashed animals were sometimes inexplicably wandering around, and the leads had broken and despawned without me knowing.I suspected at first that this was being caused by loading or unloading chunks when I or other players traveled on the realm. However, I have since found a reliable way to recreate this bug. After dying multiple times in quick succession, I realized that all animals that had been recently leashed by me were now unleashed. I leashed them, got killed again shortly afterwards, and found the same animals unleashed, their leads sitting on the ground in item form. I tried this several more times with the same result. Most of these tested deaths occured within one or two chunks of my respawn, so it seems like the chunks would all have been near enough to my death and respawn to stay loaded.
Note, this may be related to a similar bug reported for another version: Leads can sometimes break when unloading and reloading chunks quickly - Minecraft: Java Edition - Jira Service Management
