The bug:
The player’s chat remains restricted after disabling chat restrictions from the ‘Restrictions' screen chat settings button until the chat is re-focused like shown in attached video
Steps to reproduce the issue:
Enable chat restrictions by setting ‘Chat: Hidden’ (Pause > Options… > Chat Settings… > Chat: Hidden)
Type anything into the chat and click the 'Chat is restricted. Click this message for details.' message
From the ‘Restrictions’ screen, click the ‘Go to Chat Settings screen’ button
From the ‘Chat Settings' screen, toggle ‘Chat: Hidden’ to 'Chat: Shown’
Press ‘Done’ at the bottom of the page
Attempt to send a message, you will see that the chat is incorrectly restricted when the setting was toggled from steps 4-5
Close the chat by pressing
escby default, then open your chat again, only then will you be able to send messages
Expected result:
Chat restriction settings are effective immediately after being changed from the button leading to chat settings in the ‘Restrictions’ screen
Actual result:
Chat restriction settings are effective only after a chat re-focus after being changed from the button leading to chat settings in the ‘Restrictions’ screen

This is a duplicate of MC-306321
Actually, it moreso relates to MC-306321 as that report only defines the chat not updating, this is about user’s being unable to send messages despite the option being toggled on.
