Steps to reproduce:
Execute at some location where the fossil can be placed (diamond and coal fossils are both affected)
/place feature minecraft:fossil_diamondsDelete the stone blocks around you until you uncover the fossil, e. g. with
/fill ~-10 ~-10 ~-10 ~10 ~10 ~10 air replace #minecraft:base_stone_overworld
Observed results:
The fossil seemingly consists of different stone types despite it being made of bone blocks. This is a clientside desync because the blocks, when broken or picked, yield bone block items. After a relog everything returns to normal.
Expected results:
The fossil is made of bone blocks.
I donβt know whether this affects naturally generated fossils because I havenβt found one yet. The issue does not stem from the fill command; it also occurs without it.
