The game appears to repeat a few frames when attempting to mine blocks with the Vulkan rendering backend

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Launch the game with the Vulkan renderer backend.

  2. Load any existing world.

  3. Mine any block in the world.

Observed Behavior:

The screen appears to "replay" the same frame repeatedly (severe stuttering), and the game stops responding/freezes completely after a short while, requiring a force close.

Expected Behavior:

The mining animation for the block should render normally without freezing or stuttering.

Hi!
Thank you for your report!

Could you please try switching the video settings to basic? For example, limit the FPS, lower the render distance chunks, and check if it still lags.

Thank you for your reply and suggestions. Here are the test results with additional records.

  1. "VSYNC ON.mp4": 2560x1600 @ 144Hz, VSync enabled;

  2. "1024x768 60Hz.mp4": 1024x768 @ 60Hz, VSync enabled;

  3. ”640x480 60Hz.mp4": 640x480 @ 60Hz, VSync enabled, FPS capped at 60, render distance set to 4, simulation distance set to 6, clouds disabled;

  4. "Using OpenGL.mp4": All settings maxed out with VSync disabled, using the OpenGL renderer.

As you can see, the rendering issue persists in the original attachment as well as in the first three new recordings using the Vulkan backend, regardless of resolution, frame rate or other settings. The problem does not occur at all when using the OpenGL renderer, even with maximum settings.

Just to note: The “Fullscreen Resolution” setting you changed in your videos did not affect anything, since you were not in fullscreen mode.

Oh, I didn't notice that. I've now tested changing the current resolution while in fullscreen mode, and the bug still occurs.
Additionally, there is a key detail: this issue does not occur on my another device (i9-12900H, RTX 3050 Ti Laptop). It seems this bug may only manifest on my current hardware or devices with similar specifications.

Is it possible that my graphics driver is outdated? I use AMD Radeon 780M with driver version 32.0.12020.7004, released on March 14, 2025. It fully supports Vulkan 1.3 and is detected normally by the game.

Can you please update your graphics drivers and see if the issue still happens in the latest snapshot?
