Trees in dappled forests appear to be less dense in Java Edition compared to Bedrock Edition. This is especially noticeable on cliffs and hillsides, as barely any tree generates in Java whereas many more trees generate in Bedrock.
How to reproduce:
Open Java Edition 26.3 snapshot 1 and generate a world with seed -871957973440799568
Run the following command: /tp @s -8113.66 171.13 4208.87 -83.10 44.85
Observe the lack of trees on the cliffside
Open Bedrock Edition Preview 26.40.27 and generate a world with seed -871957973440799568 and the Drop 3 of 2026 experiment enabled
Run the following command: /tp @s -8113.66 171.13 4208.87 -83.10 44.85
Observe that tree are generating more densely, especially on the cliffside

Interestingly, there appear to be single-block “stumps” in Java edition where the full trees generate in Bedrock.
Still an issue in snapshot 7. I would gladly update the report, but post-migration Mojira is as terrible as humanly possible and isn’t letting me do that.
Thank you for your report!
