Armor trim material seems to be ignored in custom resource packs

Create a set of boots with emerald trim in (I believe) any pattern (I’m using “Coast”). Put it onto an armor stand. It should like fine.

Now switch to the attached “Core” texture pack and it will look like the raw pattern, not colored by the palette. (I have given the full pack in case something unexpected is interfering.)

The palettes are in the new place. I use the default trim_base.png.

If this is a bug on my part, I don’t see any indication of something I missed from the release notes or examining the default texture pack. So this feels like a bug in the rendering to me.

Hi!
Thank you for your report!

  • Is this resource pack supposed to work on vanilla? I can see files made for Optifine.

  • Can you provide a video or any other relevant media to showcase this issue?

Yes, it’s primarily targeted at vanilla, but I do have some optifine things in it. Is there a known issue wrt optifine here?

I’ve attached two images, the first is vanilla, with a set of armor in diamond trims. For the second, the only change is to use my pack. I believe that’s showing iron, but since I didn’t re-trim them, that would be wrong.

LMK what else I can give you.

Oh, fwiw, this is under 26.3-snapshot-3 since it just came out, but I could go back if needed.

Hi! It looks like your trim pattern textures are missing .mcmeta files to set the base palette, which causes them to not be remapped. It's worth noting that mcmeta files are not inherited between packs - so adding these like Vanilla has should work!
