Bees sometimes become temporarily stuck while flying into blocks. Oftentimes, they stop animating (most noticeably, they stop flapping their wings) when they get stuck. The attached video was taken with an accelerated tick speed for demonstration purposes, but this bug occurs at the base tick speed as well.
