Hello Mojang Folks,
I am experiencing an issue with mouseclicks on Mac, where the action onscreen is delayed by about 0.5+ seconds. This delay has largely rendered the game unplayable.
This problem only impacts mouse clicks (delayed), and not directional movement with the mouse (immediate / works fine). The problem seems to be with MC versions 26.1 and later. It occurs both on the welcome screen when navigating windows, and also during gameplay.
MC Versions Tested:
26.2 (Mouseclick lag!)
26.1 (Mouseclick lag!)
1.21.11 and earlier (NO LAG / OK!)
System:
Model: Mac Studio 2025
macOS: 26.6.2 (25G83) - freshly wiped/installed
Chip: apple A4 Max
Memory: 64GB
macOS: 26.6.2 (25G83)
Mouse
Lemokey G18K (generic mouse with nothing fancy, no customization, no drivers, mouse directly plugged into mac studio via USB cable). The mouse has a button on the bottom to cycle through polling rate (125, 500, 1000, 2000, 4000, 8000). Regardless of polling rate, mouse clicks result in the same lag.
I'm going through withdrawal here without being able to play. :) Help!
Looking forward to the fix!
Appreciative,

Does MC-310150 describe your issue?
It seems like it might be a similar issue, but there aren’t enough specifics in the post you linked to know for sure (like specifically what version of the OS that other user is using).
Please keep this post open, as it is NOT resolved, and it is the one that provides better environmental detail.
Standard protocol on Mojira is to make the oldest report of a particular issue the main one and resolve all other reports as duplicates, consolidating information from the duplicates into the main report as necessary. Most likely I will do that here if this does prove to be the same issue.
Just to ensure this is actually the same issue, could you upload a video recording of the issue with the debug screen (F3) enabled and showing the game version and system specs? (You can record your screen using the built-in Screenshot app (shift+cmd+5), trim and/or downsize it it in QuickTimePlayer and convert to to MP4 using local software or cloud services to reduce the file size.)
I have once again resolved this report as Awaiting Response. It will automatically reopen when you reply– apologies for not being clear on that last time.
No problem, thanks for the reply. Just remember, some people who report issues and play this game aren’t programmers, nor are they accustomed to - or even are ever a part of - forums like these. ;)
Video below. And for clarification, it seems to only be left mouseclick impacted. Placing blocks with right-click works fine and is immediate, but left mouseclick has a delay.
Additionally, it feels like the delay is a bit longer when you’re actually in the game (and not navigating start screen menus, which has a delay too, as mentioned).
Thanks again,

Any word on resolution for this issue?
Update:
I just completely wiped and reinstalled Mac OS on my machine. I am now no longer running Tahoe, and instead am running Golden Gate 27.0.1. This is an install directly from the Apple repo specifically for Golden Gate (boot via thumb drive), and isn’t an existing version of Tahoe that has been updated to Golden Gate. In other words, full wipe and a total reinstall of just Golden Gate.
I just ran Minecraft (26.3) for the first time on this freshly wiped/installed box (same machine as mentioned above). The issue discussed above still exists: left mouse click lags, leaving gameplay crippled.
Still can’t play in any serious manner.
Any word on resolution?
Thanks!

Do you feel that this issue is distinctly different from MC-310150? It seems to be the same problem to me, in which case it should be tracked in a single (usually the oldest) report.
I do not, sorry, as it seems to be same issue manifested across OS versions.
Apologies, I do not intend to annoy anyone here, I just want to make sure things are complete wherever it is discussed, since there still doesn’t appear to be a fix, and I’ve even moved on to a new version of the OS and everything. Sorry about the fragmentation. I’m not a programmer, nor am I used to bug tracking or any of this stuff though I do know you rely on users like us to report them.
I struggle with jira, to be honest. Sometimes it doesn’t load correctly, and it’s hard to tell what is going on when there’s no list of what threads I’ve commented on via my profile (so that I’ve found anyway). Apologies.
It’s alright, the current Mojira experience is in many ways inferior to the legacy one, and there are technical and procedural hurdles to improving things and re-adding lost functionality such as seeing all the issues you’ve commented on. (Although the unofficial mojira.dev seems to have figured this out- see https://mojira.dev/user/ST.) If you really want to go the extra mile with making sure this issue gets solved, make a new user on your computer and try downloading and playing Minecraft on that user, and see how it goes. If you’re sure the issue is fixed, change your system settings and Minecraft settings one at a time to match your main user until you find the one which is causing the problem. This takes a lot of effort and may well prove a fruitless hassle, but if playing Minecraft Java in this machine is very important to you then it may be all you can do at this point in time.
Oh for crying out loud... You literally say won’t write “Help!” in your guidlines. 🤦♂️ Sorry about that. It truly wasn’t intentional. Anyway, yeah, delay with mouseclick events, from about 0.5s - 1.0s, as stated above in original post, making game impossible to play in any serious manner.
