As stated above, even when the gamerule "doFireTick" is set to false, lava ist able to set logs (haven't tried other flammable blocks) on fire. The logs won't burn up (they'll burn forever), which is quite annoying if you want to builg something with logs and lava adjacent to each other.

@Anon Ymus:
Dublicate of ... ehm ... nope ... that's the wrong one π

@Tails or @Anon Ymus:
Someone missed this: Please take a look at the dublicates list ... something needs to be corrected here ... obviously π

Reopened.

@Ezekiel:
Thanks for correction, but reopened? So what now?
From http://www.minecraftwiki.net/wiki/Gamerule#Game_Rules:
doFireTick Enables/disables fire updates (no fire spread or dissipation)
When set to false, lava / flint & steel / lightning .... still can set things on fire, but the fire simply doesn't spread. Would say "Works as intended" or am I missing something?

I think its technically working as designed but this isn't the intended behavior...I didn't close this, so I'm going to leave it open and try to contact Anon Ymus.

OK, right. "Works as designed" π
Sorry, I made a typo.
"doFireTick=false" disables fire spreading. It does not prevent blocks from catching fire through lava / flint & steel / lightning ....
