Relates to MC-311643 and MC-311966.
American English’s name contrasts with all other English variants in the game by name - “United States” is abbreviated as “US”. This is obviously inconsistent with the others, e.g. British English (which is called “English (United Kingdom)” rather than “English (UK)”), New Zealand English (called “English (New Zealand)” rather than “English (NZ)”), and so on.
To fix this, the default en_us language name should be changed to “English (United States)”.
