MC-25976 was fixed in today’s snapshot, however it appears this specific case was left out. While most blocks play their breaking sound just fine, fire is still silently deleted.
To reproduce:
punch fire manually, listen
make water flow into fire’s space, listen
Expected results: both would produce a hissing sound to indicate that the minecraft:fire block was destroyed.
Actual results: the former correctly produces this sound, but the latter just deletes the fire with zero fanfare.
To fix: when water flows onto fire, a hissing sound should be produced when the fire ceases to exist, as is already the case for blocks which get washed away.
