River in badlands biome causes trees and grass to generate

The bug

As can be seen on the screenshot, the presence of river in badlands causes trees and grass to generate. The river seems to interact normally with other biomes.

The trees are not from the River, they are from the Mesa Plateau, Trees are sometimes overlapping into other biomes (e.g. snowy jungle trees between Taiga and Jungle)

Thanks for the clarification. I updated the title and the description to avoid confusion.

Is this still a concern in the latest Minecraft version 13w48b? If so, please update the affected versions in order to best aid Mojang ensuring bugs are still valid in the latest releases/pre-releases.

I believe this might be intended because rivers sometimes spawn trees, like trees generating in deserts with a river and trees generating in mushroom shores with oceans. Give your opinion if you think this is a bug. It might be 50-50.

Forward-resolving to more generic MC-200960.
