Unusual TNT explosion characteristics

This bug is twofold: First of all, explosions in most materials are unusually uniform, whereas before they were more random in shape.
Secondly, End Stone seems to have the same blast resistance as stone.

For the stone tests, I used a 5x5x5 cube, and cut away the front layer after the explosion. As you can see in the screenshots, a perfect 3x3x3 cube was missing.
I used TNT in all tests.

Edit: Further testing of other materials revealed that the dirt's uniform crater was a fluke. When larger explosions were created, the other materials were less uniform as well.

Can you clarify the "before they were more random in shape"?

A long time ago, perhaps around 1.3, I did a bunch of explosion tests and they had nonuniform craters, as in not-perfect shapes, and stone's extended beyond a radius of 3. I edited the description after further testing, please read.

I guess my primary concern at this point is that End Stone seems to have the same blast resistance as stone. whether that means stone is more resistant or End stone is less so, I cannot say. It's been a long time since I did explosion testing, but there used to be a noticeable difference between them.

Can you provide test evidence for old versions to support this?

According to the wiki, end stone has a higher blast resistance than stone, though it does not indicate whether or not this has been changed in the past.
