When I join one of my worlds or a multiplayer server, everything, literally everything starts going crazy. Textures become inverted, text becomes unreadable, all in the midst of a lot of flashing. Similar bug reports I've seen show the glitch only happening when a decoration block is held (unlike this glitch) or mipmap is on (unlike this glitch because it affects 1.6.4). It is very hard to explain in words, so I will take and add screenshots ASAP. Screenshots provided.

Server brand: craftbukkit - I don't believe this has an effect, but can you please reproduce this in vanilla Minecraft?

Your Java version is out of date! Please update your Java to the latest version (1.7.0_45): http://www.java.com/en/download/.
When using a 32-bit browser on a 64-bit operating system the automatic version detection will only show the 32-bit version of Java, the 64-bit version needs to be downloaded manually: http://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp.
Please report if the issue persists with the latest Java version.
After I downloaded that version of Java, I checked the launcher's development notes tab and it showed this:
[16:36:01 INFO]: System.getProperty('java.version') == '1.6.0_65'
I believe this line means Minecraft thinks the java version is still 1.6, even though I ran the .dmg file for the Java installation. To make sure the Java version is 1.6, I used the Terminal command "java -version" and got this:
java version "1.6.0_65"
On the other hand, when I downloaded the .dmg file, the webpage gave me this:
Chrome does not support Java 7. Java 7 runs only on 64-bit browsers and Chrome is a 32-bit browser.
If you download Java 7, you will not be able to run Java content in Chrome and will need to use a 64-bit browser (such as Safari or Firefox) to run Java content within a browser. Additionally, installing Java 7 will disable the ability to use Apple Java 6 on your system.
Was it a bad idea to download Java 7, or am I overreacting to the message?
Don't worry about it unless you use a website that requires Java. I actually disable their plugins for browsers to prevent virus infections.
Java VM Version: Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (mixed mode), Apple Inc.
Make sure you are updating the 64 bit version, you've probably only updated the 32 bit version.
Here is a crash report on a vanilla server. Some issues that happen in Bukkit do exist, but they take time to occur and aren't as serious.
Is this still a concern in the latest Minecraft version 14w03b? If so, please update the affected versions in order to best aid Mojang ensuring bugs are still valid in the latest releases/pre-releases.
Please force a crash by pressing F3 + C for 10 seconds while in-game and attach the crash report (
[minecraft|http://hopper.minecraft.net/help/finding-minecraft-data-folder]/crash-reports/crash-<DATE>-client.txt
) here.
