When fireworks are placed (or ignited) on a wall, they can go through the wall and explode inside of them. Also, when placed on a wall directly under a ledge, it will go through the ledge and and explode on the surface.

Did something like this.

@Tails I wouldn't say it's a duplicate. This one explains that they will travel through a "ceiling" block and explode on the surface.

This also applies to putting Fireworks inside occupied spaces such as against glass panes or iron bars.
Excuse me for duplicating this. "Glass," "Pane," "Iron," "Bar," and several other keywords might help since they can also be part of this. I searched "Firework" and "Glass" and nothing came up. I was not sure what to search otherwise, although I did notice the bug this issue covers while testing after the fact. It does appear to have the same cause, but the other effected items aren't listed to be found in a search.

Is this still a concern in the current Minecraft version? If so, please update the affected versions in order to best aid Mojang ensuring bugs are still valid in the latest releases/pre-releases.

Is this still a concern in the current Minecraft version 1.8.1 Prerelease 3 / Launcher version 1.5.3 or later? If so, please update the affected versions in order to best aid Mojang ensuring bugs are still valid in the latest releases/pre-releases.

No response for over a year.

Can reproduce in 21w08b using the undersides of blocks (which was resolved as a duplicate of this) as well as far edges of the tops of blocks next to walls:

This is still an issue in 1.17.1.
