When the player has a regeneration effect, he can take melee hits much faster than when he does not. The higher the regeneration level, the faster he can receive hits (from another player). It scales with regeneration level, and the player can receive many more hits/second when they have a high regeneration level.
tldr
Cool-down between hits received reduced with regeneration

Is this still a concern in the current Minecraft version? If so, please update the affected versions in order to best aid Mojang ensuring bugs are still valid in the latest releases/pre-releases. If this has been done, we can reopen the issue.
Keep in mind that the "Resolved"-Status on this ticket just means "Answered", and that we are waiting for further information on whether this issue still exists or not. We will reopen it as soon as the requested information has been delivered.
Ticket resolved as incomplete, because no answer in a reasonable amount of time (1+ year), if it still happens, please update the ticket.
The OPPOSITE of this happens in 1.16 Bedrock Edition. Most types of mobs, including the player, gets a higher hit cooldown at Regeneration IV and above. At Regeneration V, regular mobs are unkillable even with a sharpness V netherite sword because you can only hit them once per second. Do you think I should report this as a new bug? This is on bedrock anyways.
I already have a video ready to backup my claim. Android Version 9.2, phone model vivo 1915.
