Block breaking animation may occasionally change to a weird color

Sometimes, when breaking a block, the animation will be (completely) black or green. This doesn't always happen, but occasionally happens.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Place fence
2. Hit fence multiple times, animation will eventually turn all black, may take only one try.

2. Hit fence gate multiple times, animation will eventually turn all green, may take only one try.

Chopped a gate, animation was green

same happened here but to cobble stone
