If a Zombie or a Skeleton is spawned on a bottom half slab using a monster egg in daylight, it does not begin to burn until it walks off of the slab. I have checked this in every difficulty (apart from peaceful) and with every slab with both mobs.

Works in 1.4.6, but only on a few slabs. Stone Brick Slabs and Birch Wood Slabs seem to be the only 2.
But only if they stand on the middle of the block. If they go toward the edge they burn.
Had one sit for 3 minutes without burning
