Killing zombie villager aggravates zombie pigmen

During the night a zombie villager went into the nether through a nether portal i had created. when i went into the nether, there was the zombie, so I killed it. After killing it I was immediately swarmed by zombie pigmen. The aggravated pigmen acted as aggravated pigmen should and no other pigmen out of radius were aggravated. They just acted as if one of their kind had been killed.

The zombie villager was killed on a cobblestone floor in a two by two cobblestone passageway. It would have been impossible for me to have accidentally hit another zombie pigman while fighting him.

Yes I can confirm this, I tried it. For some reason, the zombie pigmen move as slow as zombies when you hit it though. Works with normal zombies too.

Insofar as the agro logic for the pigmen works, they do not consider normal zombies to be different. This has been true for quite some time, just somewhat rare as most people don't get normal zombies (or villagers) in the nether very often.

Actually, it only appears to be in the snapshots when the pigmen had their new AI implimented... hm...

Confirmed, this happens only in 1.8 snapshots, did not happen in 1.7.

This happens in the overworld as well.

When actually aggravating zombie pigmen, pigmen outside the original aggravation radius or newly spawned but within range later seem not to care as you kill aggravated ones. Shouldn't the AI make them aggravated as well?

For example, I hit a zombie pigman at 0,64,0. All pigmen within the radius are aggravated. I proceed to kill all but a few who pursue me to 64,64,0. At this point I finish them but don't aggravate the nearby pigmen because they were A) outside the original radius, or B) spawned since the first check.
