I know it's normal to not be able to see up through the clouds, only down, but the effect seems to be starting 1 block too high, so that the clouds become opaque while my head is still in them. Specifically it's happening when my legs are below the cloud line but the upper half of my body isn't.

Duplicate of MC-997

this is not duplicate of MC-997, I posted this as well, posision is now calculated from feet, not from eyes causing it that when you stand in the clouds only with your eyes but not your feet that your vision will be limited to the inside of the clouds

odd how no mods have seen this yet but other bugs I've posted since got same-day answers.

Sure did we see this, if not we wouldn't be able to link TRASH-7389 to this.

Can someone mark this as confirmed by the community? (since Steven confirmed it). And really, anyone in the world can confirm it in like 5 seconds.

Done.

it's only at y=127

Confirmed for 14w20b.

Confirmed for 14w21b.

You'd think this would just involve changing 1 line of code. Don't know why this wasn't fixed instantly.

Tokes: There are hundreds of bugs that are more important and gamebreaking than this. They will eventually come to this one. You can help by voting for this issue on the right side of the issue.

Ah ok good point. This is low priority.

got a new screenshot, the upper part is just in the cloud, the other below, the cloud should already be transparent

confirmed for 14w25a and b

For the record this seems to be caused by the lighting calculations being based on feet location instead of head location like it used to be. That was an intentional change (people were complaining about the block light value in the F3 screen being wrong) but it's caused about 12 other bugs. MC-47591 seems to be caused by the same thing for example.
